After two consecutive days on a bus, we arrived in the city of Edmonton to be a part of the Canada Day celebrations. Travelling is so boring but is also inspiring as we get pleasure of sights from where we are passing by. We stopped every two hours to stretch our legs and see the changing beauties of the location. We went further leaving the Yukon, which is very rocky and hilly and finally we reached the Dawson City after 18 hours of traveling by bus. The area has more gentle hills that are scattered into fields and looks mostly like the countryside around Macclesfield.

We spent little time enjoying together in a group and finally we again got to our seats to reach Edmonton. By the time we reach there, the area I experienced was very much flat. The weather was very touchy until we reached to the city, but the moment we go on and on the climate goes on changing by bringing the rainy, drizzly and cloudy weather. Well, Edmonton is famous for this trendy climate. We got off the bus at last and walked for 20 minutes to the hostel. Here the climate was very hot, with the blazing sunshine we were in mood to explore the place.

Even though, the time has passed after 6pm, we experienced hot and sunny climate, and the sand was burning from that effect. Our Hostel was not in the downtown Edmonton so we walked ahead in a group to make everyone feel great even after getting tired from the long journey. When we reached at the place, we saw huge crowd of people covered in Canadian Flags and Maple leaves. All could be found in groups. In fact, the city police was also swarming with the people. The Hostel was very big and filled with English people. We entered inside and made some arrangements to take rest.

After few hours of rest, we went out of the Hostel to have food and stared at the celebrations around us. This boosted our energy and we enjoyed couple of moments standing there. Next day, we woke up at 6 am and just chilled by taking a walk around the local area and then we went towards the park. Here we sat and read and enjoyed the sunny climate for few hours. And of course, we chatted a lot and shared some stories of real life incidents, which was very interesting and knowledgeable as well. By strolling down the streets, we spent our entire day.

The next day, we have planned to visit tourist attraction like rock at the Edmonton Mall, which is the biggest mall in the world I felt. This mall includes a Theme Park, Water Park, Ice Skating rink and the rest of usual stuff. We thought that shopping would make our day, but that doesn’t proved much fun as we haven’t bought anything. Already we have a bulk of luggage, and there is no space to carry some more. Therefore, we watched a movie and had fun. After enjoying some special moments with friends, we planned to get back to our places and start our jobs as we have already spent a week.

While traveling to Edmonton, the trip was fascinating as there was so much to see. We went to this spot from Whitehouse and explored as much as possible. We saw grizzly bear; ELK, which is Canadian moose; few wild horses; and buffalo. The next day we went for a walk around the city and truly, it was so busy with every people celebrating Canada Day. We had some food and some beers to be chilled out. Well, we hope to be back to this capital city of Alberta again where many popular cultural events and arts festivals is world famous due to its scenic river valley. It is a home to the largest shopping centre of the world, which is West Edmonton Mall. The mall has more than 800 shops and services with more than 100 eating establishments. Also nine themed attractions like the Galaxyland and the World Waterpark could be found here. It was good to back to the city, but yes a day left to explore some of the Canadian National Parks as well. Yupie! This is a real life I must say, spending some special moments with close friends …

Miraculous attractions in cities could be found at Florida as travel destinations, out of them, Fort Lauderdale City is the most beautiful and noteworthy place that becomes a hot destination to every tourist may be in the country or in the world. The Fort Lauderdale, United States is popularly known as the Venice of America. Though there is a European Venice as well, which offers history and monuments, Fort Lauderdale is a well-known tourist destination that offers waterways and miles of golden beaches. Today, the Fort Lauderdale Beach has been renovated with $26 million. Due to this, you can eat lunch at cafes, or visit some shops along the beach.

After listening about this beach a month before, I agreed few friends to visit the beach in a group. My friends were already reserved rooms in Fort Lauderdale hotel and gathered all necessary information about the city so that we could be able to explore them properly. When we reached to the city, the superb skyline and blue sea was welcoming us with pleasant views of the city. Well, Fort Lauderdale is well known for its beaches and boats so we planned to first see and have fun at the water of this city. Tourists love to visit this site and when we entered the beach, we saw vast amount of tourists thronged from other cities and countries as well.

Tourists was simply enjoying the soft sand, making themselves feel comfortable at the site, and enjoy its tropical climate. As we went to this site first time, we planned to explore and enjoy as much attractions as possible. We first went to our rooms to get fresh and by the time take rest as well. The rooms were nice and the amenities were also provided very well in the room. As it was afternoon, we first had meal at a restaurant of the same hotel. What became easier was that the hotel was on the beachfront, giving us wonderful views from the windows of our rooms. After having a little of lunch we walked towards the beach and took some amazing pictures of this breathtaking sights.

It was a splendid surprise for all of us, as this blue sea gives awesome views to every people who come here. As all of my friends ate heavy lunch, we didn’t been for swimming at water. Besides that, we walked around the site and watched people enjoying the activities. Later we thought to have fun, and so we went ahead for boating. Truly, this was a real experience, as we saw magnificent sights from through boating. I could easily say that this beach never makes anyone feel bored. Waking on the soft sand of the beach during afternoon is really a fascinating experience.

When the time has passed so soon we did not understand, but watching the sunset at the beach was very charming. We got completely exhausted so went back to our room for a better sleep at night. As it was our first day we thought to see the location, whether it pulls our interests or not. Therefore, the next day we gained lot of energy to try some of the activities. The morning time view was excellent and it influenced us a lot. With the fresh air, we started our day and slowly we witnessed that the crowd were coming to make their day memorable. Some people were simply jumping on the water, some trying to swim, some lying on the sand and some walking and enjoying the activities and sports.

After enjoying a lot, we took one-hour rest by sun bathing on the beach chair. Lying on the chair, it is so cool to have some snacks and drinks and just go on watching the glorious sights. The next day we arrived to try fishing and along with that we were very happy to experience the deep water boating. We made our days as a memorable lifetime experience at the city of Fort Lauderdale. Shopping at nearby market places, having something at the shops on the site of beach, try some stylish dishes at the street, dining at close restaurants, and some others were very much fascinating that boost energy and interest of every tourist.

Our heart filled with joy after experiencing and enjoying so much of sights and things within these three days. Swimming, walking, watching, sunset, hotels, restaurants, street food, shopping, exotic water, and scenic beauty, all became a pot full of attractions for a tourist to explore. We all came back to our home with other things that we bought from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, but something special among those were the memories, which is unforgettable for all of us.

Carnival in Rio de Janeiro these days is not new to anyone. Foremost bouts of celebrations in carnival go back as greatly at the commencement of the seventeenth century, moreover in the form of cover-up parties that were arranged by the majority of bourgeoisie, which was an idea that was imported as of Paris.

The Entrudo, which was what it was initially known as, was founded on crazy actions, in addition to throwing stuff of all kind on one to the other.

afterward on it urbanized in the regions of Grandes Sociedades (in the year 1855), as well as in the areas of Cordão Carnavalesco (in the year 1870) on the other hand additional with an idea of fun, parades, masks, magnificence. Carnival is as a display of prosperity, not so much diverse from the thought coming as of Venice.

A number of interruptions to annual celebrations owed to overstress actions, similar to throwing by the side of with perfumed spheres, as well fruits that had bad smell, in addition to breaking into the various houses.

Carnival in modern times

Samba Unidos do Porto da Pedra – a Carnival in the year 1997 (5th place)

opening as of the year 1872 we are forthcoming the up-to-the-minute celebrations in the company of the “Ranchos Carnavalescos “, as well open to partaking as of the working class as well as in the year 1907 the popular “Corso”, which is car parades by the side of the Rio Branco, as well as downtown Rio as a dissimilar originality. .

As well, competitions were on track amongst the “bairros” of the conurbation, reverse after that the capital city of Brasil.

In the region of the year 1920, we have the confinement of Samba Schools, that sooner or later consolidate in the region of the 1940’s as well as 1950’s as samba had developed stronger as a principal musical genre.

Furthermore, Carnival was made “popular”, as well as later “black” as being additional appreciated by the black inhabitants in Rio.

As the well-known Joãozinho Trinta (distinguished “carnavalesco”, which is Samba School art director) on one occasion said: “O povo gosta é de luxo, quem gosta de miséria é intelectual”. (People akin to lavishness, intellectuals akin to paucity).

Carnival is a flash of dream as well as exhibition, the vision of opulence, gold, and fame.

Summer as well coincides with the marvelous display of Carnival, which takes place in the regions of Rio on the various days that makes a way up to Ash Wednesday. In most years, Carnival legitimately starts on Friday, mostly February 12th, on this day the mayor offers the keys of the metropolis to the prominent King Momo, the generously proportioned pleasure-seeker who conducts in the region of bacchanalia. The after that four days are manifest by quarter parties, abundant masked balls, al fresco concerts on the huge stages all through the entire town in addition to the Technicolor parades that are carried out all through the night in the specifically premeditated Sambadrome.

In the early 1920s, the innovative sound of samba came out. It was music occupied of flavors from Africa, carried to the capital by previous slaves in addition to their meager descendents. Moreover, it was a reverberation that would forever be coupled with Carnival. Even though the causes of Carnival are cloaked in anonymity, various consider it the entire started as a celebration of pagan to mark arrival of spring all through the Middle Ages. In addition, the Portuguese fetched the festivity to regions of Brazil in the early 1500s; on the other hand, it took on a restricted savor by the prologue of Indian costumes as well as African rhythms. (The declaration itself in all probability receives as of the Latin carne vale, which means “goodbye meat”; hereby the Catholic inhabitants would sacrifice meat along with various other fleshly food temptations all through the forty days of Lent.)

The foremost festivals in the regions of Rio were known as entrudos, in the company of locals marching all the way through the boulevards in multicolored costumes as well as throwing flour, mud, and distrustful-smelling liquids on each other. Moreover, in the early 19th century, Carnival was more of attending a sumptuous masked ball otherwise taking part in the systematic, on the other hand relatively tasteless European-fashion parade. The poor citizens of Rio, uninterested by the best clothes even though eager to go to have a good time, started holding their individual parades, dancing all the way through the roads to the exotic African-based tempos. After that in the early 1920s, the new-fangled resonance of samba that came out in the various areas of Rio. It was music filled of African savors, carried to the metropolis by previous slaves as well as their unfortunate descendents. In addition, it was a resonance that would everlastingly be connected with Carnival, as still the huge upper class accepted the celebrations, which was taking placed on the streets.

Brazil in the early 1980’s began developing a status for aggression and offense owing to an enormous money owing that left no currency for provisions such as hospitals, police, and schools. All through the 1990’s, on the other hand, things started to turn about, as the country government was capable to reduce its debt as well, as a result reintroduce wealth into the various public services, beginning with the police. A number of officers were after that stationed anywhere there appeared to be a difficulty: beaches, city streets, etc in addition to the offense rate started to fall. Mammoth investments into the Carnival in Rio tourism at the same time made the defense of the numerous tourists a priority of the government. Tourism all the way through Brazil is at the present a top precedence, as well as the whole thing is done to make sure the security as well as soothe of the tourists.

Taxis are extremely safe furthermore accessible all over the place, on the other hand several incidents are infrequently reported. It is looked after that the taxis given similar to this are definite to be totally safe. Cabs are foremost common transport mode that the majority of tourists make use of, as well as with their reasonably priced costs in addition to expediency, it is in general the one which is most suggested.

The volatile features of Planet Earth are the most important topic of study because it has led to some of the most famous volcanoes. The names of famous volcanoes cover diverse areas of the entire earth. The study of volcanoes is an exciting career opportunity for young individuals. It is very closely related to geology. Geologists can predict new volcanic activity, by analyzing the series of events that led to previous eruptions.

The following are three names of famous volcanoes:

Mount Vesuvius, Italy

Mount Vesuvius is considered one of the most dangerous volcanoes. The eruption of 79 AD destroyed the cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum. The subsequent eruptions have been less severe. It poses many threats to the large population in its vicinity. This makes it a volcano to watch out for.

Mount Tambora, Indonesia

Mt Tambora’s eruption of 1815 left nearly 71,000 people dead. It measured 7 on the Volcanic Explosivity Index. This was the largest eruption in the history of the volcano. It had a profound impact on the environment, and created a volcanic winter. The following year was termed as the ‘year without a summer’. This has made it the world’s most famous volcano. The snowstorms in New England and Eastern Canada can be attributed to this volcano. This led to crop failure and loss of human lives. The eruptions in 1812, 1813, and 1814, too, led to climatic changes, which resulted in an explosion.

Krakatau, Indonesia

Among the 130 active volcanoes in Indonesia, Krakatau is the most famous because of its explosive eruptions. In terms of size, it is not one of the largest volcanoes. It showcased its might in an 1883 explosion, which resulted in the disintegration of the northern portion of the island. This later caused many tsunamis. Nearly 36,000 individuals lost their lives due to the massive walls of water. Several towns and villages that lay along the coastline were wiped out. Some islands, too, were destroyed. The temperatures, too, dropped around the world.

There are other names of famous volcanoes worthy of mention:

Crater Lake, Oregon:
Its last eruption was 6600 years ago. It had the force equivalent to an atomic bomb.

Mt. St. Helens, Washington:
The earthquake in 1980 resulted in the largest landslide in the history of America.

Mt. Rainier, Washington:

The largest rave, most exotic festivity and best known street carnival in the world is Rio de Janeiro Carnival 2010. Rio de Janeiro Carnival 2010 is about madness for drums, samba and loads of booze. And to make this rave to high pitching fever like the sultry and extra sexy costumes that can turn any man on and if someone is not turned on, then gay parade is on the way. The biggest party on earth, just so infectious, nothing can really describe the atmosphere it’s just maddening and crazy. The two nights of Carnival were 14th and 15th February with twelve samba schools parading vying for championship. The whole city gets a transformation and Rio de Janeiro is one playground of adult indulgence, samba, booze, boobs and booty shaking. Its gala time in Brazil a greatest show on earth, it’s most expensive and most televised. Attraction of this madness brings Madonna, Paris Hilton and Beyonce who were hounded by some 100 odd paparazzi.

All hell was on loose, with all sexy vixens dancing and shaking their asses, booty and boobs barely clad and decorated in feathers and ornamented in astonishing jewels. As their bodies were shinning like stars in night, booze was oozing out. The whole place has sexy oomph and galore and the whole crowd was enliven.

The city which is also known for drug gang violence safely hosted the major event. Brazil is crazy about this carnival and this intoxication is spreading world wide, a five percent increase in terms of tourist was seen with some 730,000 visitors arriving in Rio for the biggest party. The raves are in millions as the whole city is party zone. The rhythm of samba as revelers groove at the carnival, along with uber figure, tall leggie and hot siren like Brazilian dancers on the float setting the street on fire.

The best is at Sambodromo (for a spot in here, need to spend hundreds of dollars but man it’s worth every penny). On the floats decorated with balls and each having unique themes the dancers are enticing, beguiling and all these enchantress will keep you night long moving and shaking your ass on the percussionist beats of drums and samba. Unidos da Tijuca samba school was the winner of the top prize and their theme was “It’s a Secret!” and they paid homage and tribute to pop star king by performing a dancing impersonator of the late singer Michael Jackson. Their last title was in 1936 considered as underdog, this year they surpassed all. The winning group receives no monetary prize – just a trophy and bragging rights for a year.

Steert Blocos are very popular during and after Carnival, as groups of musicians, drummers and samba dancers march through the streets or on flat bed trucks singing and dancing with revelers following them through the streets as the city is die hard party place.
Even though it was heating, revelers were all chilled out and rocking. Enjoying the spectacular, Rio De Janeiro Carnival 2010 was exceptionally and absolutely phenomenon.

No one can ever, get bored traveling in India! Except for Bollywood and terrorist attacks, India is favorite tourist destination among most of the tourists for its still preserved culture and customs. India is a beautiful blend of modernization with touch of colorful festivals, diverse culture and language. The best time to visit the India is in winter and summer i.e. September to May. Avoid going between June and August as its rains heavily during these months.

I can go on and on about India. So I’ll just, start on with my traveling experience in North India. Out North India tour started off, when my flight from States landed in Mumbai, Maharashtra, after around seventeen hours. Having heard so much about Mumbai, its culture, movies (Bollywood) and nightlife, I decided to stay couple of nights and a day in Mumbai. In 2008, after being attack by the terrorist militants and destruction caused of lives and landmarks like Oberoi Hotel and Taj Hotel, the daily routine of the people still looks fine and lively. I don’t know what it is about this city, but the vibes of the city and the friendly locals will just make you very comfortable.

Nevertheless, finally, I reached there, and fantastic place to be. But on my way to the hotel, was a moment when I thought I was going to die not by a mafia goon but because of the cabbie. The cabbie was driving so rash and even crossed the red light signal on a high speed that I started to see white light in front of me. I haven’t been so scared in my whole trip in India! After the terrifying cab ride, I finally reached my hotel, safely! And after a small dispute over the fare, assisted by my hotel manager, I was in town. From outside the hotel didn’t look that good, but they took good care of me.

Next day was fantastic, wandering around the south Mumbai i.e. Town, exploring and admiring the British era colonial architectures, Gateway of India, Central Park – filled by the locals playing cricket, and checking the original thoroughfares from a cab fare card. It was fun! Even saw Taj Mahal hotel, even after the attack, it looked incredible and has more strict security around it. Even after attack and being renovated, the black marks of fire and bullets holes say the horrifying event happened here. To experience some luxury time, I went in the Harborview Bar of the Taj Mahal hotel, to drink. I had two drinks, which cost me forty dollars each. It didn’t even equal my stay in Mumbai. Behind the Taj Mahal hotel, I saw a local hotel named Baghdadi. The restaurant was flooded by the customers, so just to try couple of dishes; I went in where booths were shared because of the limitation of space. A guy next to me, recommended me to try dry chicken here. Though the chicken was spicy, it was really mouth-watering and delicious. He even told me to try kadai paneer (paneer – cotton cheese) – had no idea what it was, but ordered it to try once. It’s a vegetarian dish, very succulent, soft and I had never taste something like this before. The meal was the cheapest and delicious that I have had in my whole trip. After having good meal and before heading to my hotel, I stopped by the ground to see cricket, cheer up the players, and watch an Indian Movie in Movie Theater. Though I couldn’t understand what the dialogues were, but somehow got the story.

Next day, I flew to the northeast to Varanasi, where River Ganges flow and town full of different colors, spiritual and sacred place for Hindus. It was very spiritual as well as weird experience for me. Infinite numbers of people come here making their way through the crowd, to be purified by bathing in the river Ganges and some heading towards the nearby Buddhist site to take blessings. The whole crowd was mixture of curious tourists, beggars, local shamans and salesmen, which was intimidating for me to view. In the evening as I arrived there, the bank of River Ganga was filled by the evening activity; few people were praying and taking a dip in the river, some young as well as old Brahmins were doing yoga, some were leaving flowers and small lit clay lamp in the water, which was all together a spiritual experience for me. Having heard so much about this place and finally witnessing its spirituality, is really something to experience. In the dawn, you can’t miss the sight of Brahmins and locals coming and bathing in cold water of river Ganga, which is also little hilarious.

After spending a day in Varanasi, my next stop was the Agra. I had reservation done in the overnight train to Agra. Reaching at night outside the station, with the help of a coolie (porter) I boarded my train. The view around the station is really mind blowing and frustrating at the same time. The best to see are the porters around carrying more than two heavy bags on their heads and climbing the stairs quickly. The train journey was relaxing and comfortable and before reaching to Agra, I had a good nap in the train. I reached to Agra in the middle of the night. Having to travel by the train network in India, I didn’t regret it. I was booked in the second class – sleeper’s compartments – where the bunk was quite hard but still reasonable. I was alarmed by the few people to take care of my bags and belongings as at night for their have been cases of being robbed.

After being checked in a good hotel and having good few hours of sleep, in morning I asked the hotel manager to arrange a guide to show me around. The first thing I wanted to see was among the Seven Wonders of the World – Taj Mahal. But my guide insisted me to see it in the evening, during sunset. So he took me to the other well known sites of the Agra like huge and impressive Red Forts – it was just awesome, small version of Taj Maha (according to me) –the decorative Muslim Tomb and many more royal wealth. The both mention is worth a visit for once!

However, there is no comparison between Taj Mahal and other historic monuments in Agra. It’s the most beautiful structure to visit; undoubtedly, the site is promising and lives up to its hype. The sunset was perfect to watch this huge and magnificent monument. It was amazing to sit and see the colors changes around it – just breathtaking! I had so many weird photos taken by my guide, every single weird but good poses.

After having seen the main sites of Agra, I left immediately for the Jaipur. I wanted to see the Fatehpur Sikri, a palace erected by the grandfather of the maharaja who ordered to build the Taj Mahal. The other attractions were the Pink city of the Jaipur. The best part in that city is the elephant ride all the way to the palace situated at the outskirt of the town. One thing I learned here is that the tourism plays important role in most of the local lives. Reaching the ground of the palace, you will realize that whole ground is occupied by the shops and stalls, selling handicrafts and accessories. If anytime you liked wool rug and wish to buy, as you move away from that stall, its price will fall too, after they think you were not buying it! It’s best to bargain there… as people try to sell more than its price.

The stay at Jaipur was fun and I enjoyed elephant ride. I did plan to go to Delhi but I had some my flight issues, so had to return to Mumbai. But next time I will sure come back to India to explore more cities and write about it. Still the whole week was fun, discovering new things and way of living of the people in India. The whole experience was overwhelming for me!

Although Chinese lion dance and fireworks are important ingredients of Chinese New Year, there is much more to it. Similar to the Christmas celebration in the west, New Year in China is the biggest celebration in the country.

However, unlike Christmas, the date of festival isn’t always constant because it depends on the solar calendar (traditionally lunar calendar). The calendar, with 12 animals, assigns an animal to every Chinese year. And it is considered that the year’s traits would be quite similar to the animal. 2010 is the Year of Golden Tiger. And here’s something interesting, the celebration lasts for around 15 days, from New Moon Day to Full Moon, staring from 14th Feb 2010.

The history, customs, and calendar of Chinese civilization is too long to explain in a short article. Hence, let us now focus on the more important aspect of the festival – The Celebration. Unlike many other regional celebrations, Chinese New Year is celebrated all over the world. Here are the top ten destinations, other than China, where this festival is celebrated with remarkable decoration, tremendous enthusiasm, and maximum fun.
