There’s no use denying the fact that technology has begun to touch each and every aspect of our lives. So then why must travel be any different? Booking your hotel rooms and flight tickets can be done right from the comforts of your own house or office. You can click as many photographs as you wish on your cellphones or digi-cams. Technology has touched everyone. But so that it continues to touch you some more, we bring out a list of applications that are iPhone friendly. Check them out, and see if they are of any use to you.

TripIt -

Well, while this app may not be dedicated to the iPhone, it does help a little. It directs you to a website called tripit.com. You have to type in a lot of data that you then have to send out to an email address that’s mentioned on the site. The app then sends you a full itinerary that is saved in an easy-to-read format.

Thumbs up:

Gives you an easily accessible travel guide that tells you about your travel plans.

Thumbs down:

The time taken to add all the information can be draining. Plus, it works as a turn off. The weirdest thing of all is sending all your personal information to an email id that you don’t even know.

World Mate -

This one turns out to be slightly more intuitive than the previous app discussed here. It allows you to find details on flights, hotels and other information that a holidayer needs.

It gave up 3 options for the hotels (which was definitely not comprehensive enough judging from the fact that there were many more hotels available). The flight search, however, works better and gives as many options as there are.

Thumbs up:

It is a well-thought out application.

Thumbs down:

It definitely needs to work on its hotel search. That part of the app isn’t comprehensive enough.

Urbanspoon

So, you know that you want to eat some Thai food and your partner wants some good old pizzas!!! How do you find out where these restaurants are, when you’re in an unfamiliar city? The answer comes in the form of this application called ‘Urbanspoon’.

All you have to do is enter in the kind of food type, location or price range that you’re looking for; and this app will automatically give you an option of restaurants that suit your needs. They also give you an option of linking to your facebook. If you do choose this option; it’ll let you know about the eating joints that your friends have visited in the past.

Thumbs up:

A decent enough guide for someone who’s lost in a new city.

Thumbs down:

Most of its options are limited to America. If they do think of expanding this one, it could well turn into a gastronomical bible that becomes a must for travelers across the world.

Ask the folks who love to go for adventurous trips. The way they pack their baggage is the most amazing trick. My self being a travel lover has made some vital stuff that I grab before leaving for some tours. It is most frequent with me that my gang picks me after I wind my office works and we leave for some place to freak out. Go mad and have fun.

One thing is for sure the more and more you hit the road to travel you learn to pack your bags more properly. The very first thing you learn is to bundle in lighter for longer period. Secondly, they themselves invent journey necessities.

These travel essential encloses a wide variety stuff that becomes a part and parcel of the journey. The journeys in which our families accompanies us, comprises lot of things that are useful on the voyages. We learn to quit carrying the luxurious items and concentrate on the stuff that are highly useful. Well, there are some things that is mandatory in journey like a additional pair of jeans or track pants, you can even carry small compass that may direct you when you get lost, a torch that will help you in dark, an extra pair of socks, a bandana or cap to cover your head from the heat stroke and a lighter quill to escape from the chill atmosphere.

Well these all things are the vital for journey but let me give you some tips that highly useful. And I assure you that these lists will make aware of the right thing to grab.

Baby wipes:

There are times when you are stuck up in a place where you wont get water to bath, leave bath you won’t get water to drink. At such times dirty faces makes us feel highly uncomfortable then just pull out baby wipes that are to good for quick clean ups and it will leave you fresh.

Sugar-free, mint-flavored gum:

Even if you’re not a gum fan, do carry some of the chewing gum packets that are sugar free and have a mint essence. Don’t take it lightly this may work like toothbrush when you wont be able to brush your teeth. And most frequently while traveling we grab on junk that upsets our stomach, so this tiny gum is very much beneficial in relieving those tummy troubles.

A recyclable water bottle:

Keep your water bottles always filled. You never when you will meet ponds or pool that will provide you water. Water is the most vital necessity of the body. Lack of water will make you dehydrated and go unconsciousness. So better keep your bottles filled.

Zip-lock bags:

Zip lock bags are good while traveling for adventurous trip. They are generally used in packing, sorting out wet from dry, keeping small stuff in its place and more.

A roll of toilet paper:

You need energy to travel. So in however jungle you are located you can’t miss out to eat. But whatever in taken in has to excreted. But yes the question is where the hell in jungle you are going to find your pot. So do carry a roll of toilet paper.

These are the little things that if taken care are in all ways very beneficial for the entire journey.

This time we thought to spend our vacations in a different manner and making our trip some unusual and an extraordinary experience one. Therefore, we went ahead for chasing trails in spectacular Europe wherein we drove over 5000 kilometers passing through 5 European countries. I discovered that driving here facilitates for numerous benefits than driving in the home streets in North America. Actually, I believe that everyone maintains and follows certain rules. Below are some descriptions of my enchanting experiences in Europe.

1. No Passing on the Right:

I found that this rule is totally restricted in each and every country where I have paid my visit. If you get hold of the police, while you are excitingly chasing a vehicle by being on the right path of the highway, then surely you will be given a serious ticket. Here, you are only allowed to pass through the left lane, and after that if someone has done the passing in that lane and you take a move to the middle or right side immediately, then you are sure enough to take a hazardous risk of endangering lives by crashing into a Ferrari or Mercedes, although you drive at a speed of 160 km an hour.

In the left lane, nobody bothers to make there time still by waiting in the line as they sneak by passing by. Even they have a positive attitude as they do not comment when someone goes by creeping to search for a way, while they are stuck in the bottleneck on the roads. Imagine if this rule would be abruptly followed by North Americans! Such a big transformation…

But however, this system is very helpful in maintaining safety and keeping the lives secured as the outer world follows their own rule of passing by the both sides which can lead to road mishaps and traffic muddle.

2. No Speed Limits:

Here, the speeding rules are somewhat totally different. Some countries like Switzerland and Austria have imposed stringent speed limits, while others seem to allow for more liberty over the same. Like Germany allows for more freedom, however Italy appears to be lacking behind in a slack manner where there were no traffic rules even in the vulnerable areas of construction zones.

So, if you are a kind of person who is passionate about driving, then the most commendable is Germany. It is a perfect paradise for driving however some of its roads and highways maintain speed limits, like for an instance when you have caught the route of Autobahn, you will find display of 130 with a gash on it, head in the right lane and observe the sophisticated vehicles passing swiftly.

The speed travels are exhilarating as well as scaring. Obviously, there are negative sides of no speed limit like it can give way to terrific shattering road accidents ending up in losing lives. I do not feel that somebody should take risks pertaining to life, now it also depends on person-to-person perspective. However, I don’t desire to be a race driver by anyways.

3. No Right Turn on Red:

This rule is a wiser implementation as it allows for safety of pedestrians as well for other drivers. Because they do not need to worry about a car intruding in between the crossroads waiting for turning on a red light. This actually prevents from triggering catastrophic accidents, in Vancouver most of the incidents were incited by havoc practice. However this way is suitable for drivers and one ponders over how much time can be saved with right turns on red lights.

4. Priority of the Right – Belgium:

Truly an antagonistic one, Belgium has hostile drivers who do not entertain new cars arrival on the highways by the way of changing lanes where the cars have to literally struggle for finding their way on highways. The precedence of the right at junction indicates that the cars arriving from that way have a priority over you. The cars gushing from that direction pass swiftly in high speeds without even bothering to watch a careful look towards your side.

Even then you are accountable of checking whether anyone is arriving or not from the right direction if the crossway has overlooked any sign stops. Therefore it is your responsibility to check the common sights of traffic mirrors for assuring that you are not t-boned in business center Brussels. According to me, this country cannot facilitate for safe and cozy driving.

5. Cars and Bikes – Live and Let Live:

This was a very moralistic concern I noticed in whichever cities and countries I visited. Be it cars, motorcycles, bikes or bicycles, they seem to be peaceful amongst themselves and share the space passively. In Vancouver where we just leave it through our mouths, it is actually practiced in Europe. I think, this is because of mellowness of biking culture which today seems to be dominant and taken its roots.

Those who are commuters and students traveling for reaching offices, schools or colleges are given a priority. I think this is amazing as they respect for each other. Also, the bike streets are maintained separately from those car lanes or if not this, they are noticeable because they have been marked of colored pavements. However when they pass by the car lanes, they are not screamed at. This practice offers for safety and no worries of being crushed by cars or bigger vehicles.

Travel tip:

If you are coming for a trip without your own car, then make it a point that you book your car much hand before you leave for the holiday. Make sure that you totally analyze and opt for a better economical deal rather than an expensive one; you do on your arrival from the airport. Try to opt for a diesel vehicle as it would save your unnecessary costs on fueling, this will help you when you have to travel a lot. Also, diesel fuel is the cheapest in Europe. Follow these, and make your trip a happier one. Follow the traffic rules and make your trip a safe journey.

Technological innovations and advancements have overcome the long distance travelling concept; now travelling from one continent to another is a dream come true. There was a time when Christopher Columbus took the risk of voyaging into the great oceans, desiring to reach India but discovered America instead. But now technology has developed beyond thinking and people are now touching moon, big research organisations are leaving their satellites in the sky and getting the live images sitting comfortably at one place.

Today travel has become cosier where one can travel across the seven seas just by sitting in an aeroplane and cover the distance. World tours are today seen as small amusement trips, but if we move back to the history and talk about world tour, one will feel that the another person is insane and building castle in the air. But today this is ground reality. As technology changes, so does the way and means of travelling. Travel has come a long way in the last century.

One can’t predict what highs tourism will touch in next few decades because technology is fast emerging and developing rampantly.

Here’s a look at 6 predictions for the future of travel.

1. Virtual tourism

As there is technological advancement, it becomes easier to feel the essence of the place virtually. For instance, there are diverse sites available on the net that provide us every relevant information in the form of written words, graphics, videos and give a chance to the web surfers to interact with these images in 360 degrees, and one feels that he is actually there. Google earth is a website portal that provides you satellite imagery, maps, terrain, 3D buildings. And out of which it becomes easy to explore a new destination and one feels that he or she is related to that place.

2. Changing traveller demographics

A New York Times article from 2006 implies that developing countries like China are gradually developing and the flourishing middle class in future, will have enough income to spend on international tourism. And with changing time, trends will change because change is part and parcel of life and popular tourist destinations will bring in the needed change in order to cater to others needs.

3. New York, Paris, Pyongyang?

Travel is surely a good one from which one country can cash up, it brings in employment, foreign currency and revenues can be easily earned. It is certainly a boon and in the future countries which do not approve of travelling in their country might probably approve of it. And in the future, people will travel to places which were before considered to be off limits which in turn will benefit both.

4. Extinct sites

A coin has always two sides, just as that every possible thing in this world has two sides i.e. positive and negative. Travel can help in earning revenues but also it can disturb the environment, wildlife. Might be in the future the animals who are remaining in fewer numbers, may be after some years they may fall extinct, somewhat like dinosaurs. And also environmental degradation will lead to disruption in environment like what we are facing today in the face of global warming and the ozone layer depletion.

5. Mentality changes

As the time passes by, there are many changes like in technology and the way of thinking, might be in future there would be changes in our mental perceptions. We don’t know in which way will we look towards travel? Today there are perceptional variations in looking towards homosexuality, before it was looked as a criminal offence.

6. The final frontier?

Believe it or not, this might be possible. Confused started thinking what am I talking about? A recent article of the New York Times conveys “Space travel could one day become a feasible option for those besides the mega rich.” For fulfilling this dream, both the Russian space program and the private company of Virgin Galactic are endowing efforts into this blossoming field. Perhaps, the day is nearer when we will receive postcards from moon.

The extent to which this would practically take place is yet to be seen in the coming centuries. If such changes takes place, it would surprise me alike others, their consequences whether good or bad might be known if the future.

Who thinks of getting indulged in controversial matters? while roaming the world. Everybody is jovial and delighted to explore new destinations. When we are touring to any new destination, we try to obtain exposure of new destinations. You try to see something irregular that you don’t get to perceive in your day-to-day boring life. All of us try to have a peep in the location’s lifestyles, cultures and traditions, nightlife and desire to obtain views of the enchanting spots that can fill in more enthusiasm and high-spirits. Don’t you agree to my point? Truly, we wish to take a break from the unstoppable life for getting some pleasurable and eye-soothing view. So, I will talk about five interesting tips that can turn your trip a memorabilia and vivacious without getting stuck yourself behind the bars.

1. Soak in the city life.

Every destination follows its distinct culture, lifestyle and has a different way of life, some flow with the slow-pace and some are driven with the metropolitan fast life. When you land up in new location, relish everything that comes to your way, even the miniature traits. Get into the famous clubs, pubs, restaurants, legendary locations, shops and adapt the inhabitants way of life, this will surge in you much more liveliness and effervescence, and you will experience your definition of fun. This will not only enchant your exhausted body but also acquaint you to that city’s heart.

2. Randomly run into someone halfway across the world that you haven’t seen in years.

When you step down in new destination, get in the streets alone to unmask new spots. Get along new people and interact with them, who knows where you will go? what will you explore? Even you don’t have a vague idea where you will land up. Actual fun lies when everything is wrapped under suspense. Might be after walking, you come across some great architect, spectacular landscapes, renowned centers… who knows as I have aforementioned, even you don’t know what you will discover. So what are you lingering over, rush in the lane.

3. Participate in extreme sports with people you don’t know.

Approach to people whom you don’t recognize, both participate in wild and adventurous activities together. Participate in adventurous acts like sky-diving, white-water rafting, trekking, and paragliding, see what fun it triggers, I am sure you will generate adequate stuff that can keep your new mate busy for long. Form a team and chase the rival team, see how compatible you both will become within few meets.

4. Have a spiritual epiphany.

This point conveys different thoughts to different sections of people. It entirely depends how you take it? One can attain the pleasure of getting into another world by drinking a shot of liquor and other can achieve edification after he spend his lifetime in spiritual prayers sitting in a church, temple, mosque, or even his home. It bestows knowledge that comes by experience or by discovering inner self, observing others or the world.

5. Sink your teeth into that thick, juicy burger.

One more experience that will mark its impression and stay worth remembrance is the cuisines. Sometimes magic that the places don’t create is created by the scrumptious and yummy foods. Savor all the indigenous dishes and even lick your fingertips, might be some dish will invoke you to visit that place again and again.

To make your expedition successful, you just need to develop trust over others, have good intentions and be optimistic. If you do this, mark my words, you will travel a long way ahead. Actually, travel is very cheap but the tourism industry and hotel chains try to promote themselves by spreading wrong stuffs around. “Come to us and make your deal cheap”, such kind of things you hear from them is actually not true. They try to fool you and charge extra money from you. Behind there promotions lies their selfish interest of fat earnings. They want to get the key of capitalizing that lies with you. Below, I will recommend some tips that can make your trip cheaper and enjoyable.

1. Embrace the Simple Joy of Travel

The concept of travel pours abundant pleasure in one’s imagination. So, if imagination carries the power to take a person to some another world of happiness, travelling itself bestows with contentment and blissfulness. The journey that opens the door to explore new places, new natural scenic beauties, native cuisines and new lifestyle seems to be a paradise and the feelings generated are incomparable. Travel takes you away from your boring routine life. It starts giving you pleasure in small things like you might be passing through your park everyday but never cherish the small things like flowers, butterflies but when you travel along some new destination and see a new park, it will suddenly grab your eye-balls. Such small things like new people, new language and other such things bring a bright smile in your face. Seek them all alone with your family or closed ones, such small pleasures can’t be afforded by travel packages.

2. Keep Your Needs To A Minimum

In the present days, people have started finding fun in wealth which is actually a materialistic enticement. One just does not need money to attain happiness, to achieve happiness what one needs is air, sufficient food to live, water, safe shelter, a contented inner self, social support, confidence, good will and workout for staying hale and hearty. These all things are so easy to achieve. Food and shelter are the part of our basic needs, these are essential to live.

Other needs that are necessary to live with comfort are available for free. If you have social backings like a good family or helpful friend circle with which you can share your heart openly, you will be happy; this will lead to contentment and boost your confidence. And when it comes to staying healthy you need to go through some exercise or meditation. Goodwill can give you the pleasure that money can’t provide, you will be happy about your own deeds and realize your utility in this world. So aren’t these things scattered around you? So why are you running in search of things that are not of any use to you.

3. Go Slow

As long as you will feel that “time is money,” you will splurge money like water. Think by another way, if you percept it from a new angle like time is for free, you will start benefiting yourself. For example: if you reside in New York and decide tour to Africa for two weeks holidays, it will become impossible to save money and travel inexpensively until you see the concept Time is money because you will spend money in air plane or tourism packages. But if you give it a total new look, and accept the new angle, instead of an airplane ticket you will catch the way by riding your bike or even you can sail a boat all the way, it will provide you with adventure as well as cost a little.

4. Leave Your Possessions and obsession Behind

The time you are travelling, you are free from loads of tension like you don’t need to worry about your bills generating from room’s rent, laundry, electricity, maintenance, gym etc. You neither need new attires or ties for dressing up formally nor you need a car to reach you job punctually. You do not need cable T.V., oven, or a washer dryer. You are free from each and every tension.

5. Trust People and you will Receive Free Food and Lodging

While voyaging into new trips, re-shuffle your mind with few positive qualities. Try that you start trusting people, this will in turn add to your benefit. Come in conact with new people, try to enhance your social contacts. While you are travelling, get down at their place and get along with them in a friendly and affable manner. Now-a-days people have developed their thoughts and started unconventional behavior; they are willing to offer shelter to tourists at their homes. So, learn some good social manners, help them in their small routine work. In return, you will earn good-will as well as free food.

There are two helpful websites called Couch Surfing and WWOOF which bonds the locals to the travelers. Couch Surfing’s members afford to give shelter at night for a day or two. And another one i.e. WWOOF links travelers to organic farmers who deal for trade room and in turn need a helping hand.

6. Learn a Useful Craft or Skill

It is rational that an individual specializes in some or other skills, may be in domestic chores like cooking and cleaning, animal husbandry, farm work, music, or some other technical stuffs like electronics or website designing. Any of your proficiency in whatsoever field can yield you a tasty meal in exchange of rendering your skills. And also, if you can speak English, then it’s great, it can yield you some delicious delicacies, because it is universally recognized quality. There are masses around the world who desire to learn English, so you can work as ESL tutor.

7. Get Out of the City

Travelling in cities is possible, but adjusting with the situations is very complex. Big cities turn to big projects and invest lot of money to entice the travelers, so in return they expect the tourists from which they can capitalize and cash up. The things like food, accommodation and adventure in big cities can be an expensive deal for you. So if you want to enjoy the fun of travelling, choose destinations that are economical as well as which can afford to bequeath extravagance in cheap. So, this comprehensive package can best be provided by calm and serene hamlets or small cities. Over there you can behold the sights of some exotic flora and fauna, indigenous food and breathe healthy air in impeccable environment.

8. Find a Job You Love That Entails Travel

Want to gain the experience of travel for free? Also, travel and tourism is a flourishing industry which gives way for millions of job every year. So what are you gazing? Go ahead and live your dreams.

But before you head forward, perform your job with moral responsibility. Today’s travel needs responsible guides who can spread awareness about eco-tourism so that they prevent the deteriorating health of the environment. So, go ahead but keep in mind that you do not get involved in expedition.

9. Embrace Serendipity

Have an attitude that whatever comes to your way, you will accept it willingly and happily. Expediting an itinerary that is for free demands not only advanced planning but at the same time one must be shrewd enough to grab the things that are coming to his way quickly.

So if you are surfing on free travel sites then make it a point to find out, that does your chat friend of Couch surfing needs a friend who can accompany him when he wants to drive? Immediately lend a helping hand by backpacking your stuffs and riding your bike to his place. He too, will turn happy after seeing your efforts.

And also Kurt Vonnegut has rightly penned down that, “Peculiar travel suggestions are dancing lessons from God.”
